Gym success can take you to places previously thought unimaginable. I remember the day when he walked through my old gym (The Forged Athlete) back in Omaha Nebraska. He was looking to get strong in hopes of being a collegiate wrestler. My business partner (Travis Stoetzel) and I were pumped to train him. As soon as our prospect athlete was good to go, we were off with a training program focused on getting athletes strong. The rest of the story speaks of itself as McGwire Midkiff has recently verbally committed with NDSU (North Dakota State Bison) for a wrestling opportunity.
The main idea I want to highlight is the word success and what it means to be successful. Overtime, I have learned that success is defined as the progressive realization of a worthy ideal. If a person is doing what he or she strives to do, then they are a success. Success comes with the achievement of goals. Goals are to be set and worked toward as a progression in life. Training and performing to the best of your capabilities in all aspects of your life should be a major focus for those who train.
This doesn’t mean that the process is easy. The opportunity to become a collegiate athlete takes hundreds of hours of behind the scenes work, visualization, belief and faith. Faith in yourself when others tell you otherwise combined with belief in what you’re doing when tired and don’t want to keep going. Mac has shown that his hard work and dedication to training has paid off big time. This is yet another reason why being strong is so important.
Very successful people are typically strong mentally and physically. It is why they are successful. Don’t be afraid of putting in the work for your dreams. If you want to be or have success in your life, there will be times where you will be tested. Those tests are designed to make you the person you want to become, that’s TRAINEDTUFF. I’ll leave you with our gym quote as it continues to hold true.
“NOW NO DIFFICULTY SEEMS TO BE JOYFUL FOR THE PRESENT, BUT PAINFUL, NEVER THE LESS, AFTERWARDS IT YIELDS THE PEACEABLE FRUIT OF RIGHTSOUSNESS TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TRAINED BY IT.”
